Hi Belgacom gurus:

I just got "upgraded" to VDSL (from ADSL) by Belgacom. The technician installed a new modem (Sagemcom CS50001) to achieve this upgrade. I am having a few problems and hoping others have seen the same issue and may point me towards a solution.
  • The BBox-3 in bridge-mode works OK but I am having issues with VoIP SIP calls. I have an ASUS RT-N16 router initiating the PPPoE session and sitting behind the modem. With my old BBox-2 setup, I had no issue with the BBox-2 in bridge-mode. However with the new BBox-3 in bridge-mode, I can't seem to make outgoing calls. To be clear, I have a DID/SIP account with future-nine and use a softphone app on my mobile device
  • Because of the SIP issues, I eliminated the ASUS RT-N16 router from the picture and am using the BBox-3 as a wireless router. I have sporadic connectivity issues even on 5.2 Ghz and also video streaming is chopping with the BBox-3 (lots of buffering issues etc).
  • Anyone else see these issues with the Bbox-3? Any workaround or alternatives to the seemingly unreliable Bbox-3?
Thanks again and sorry if this has been already answered elsewhere.

U can place ur B-Box2 back to see if the problem still exists. The B-Box2 is also compatible with VDSL2.

If you don't have your bbox2 anymore you could always try to get a BBOX3/V from a proximus center. This has VOIP ports on the device, same as the bbox2, so it should be capable to handle the SIP request.

The box3 is a more performant CPE than the old b-box2, hence I do not believe that your problem is related to the B-box3.
With your ASUS RT-N16 router initiating the PPPoE session behind the modem, there should not be any difference compared with the ADSL/B-box2 set-up.

There could be a problem with the VDSL2 set-up, with your B-box3 falling back to a repair profile.
  • suggest you do a speedtest (http://www.speedtest.net) and you report the result here
  • as you have a Sagem version, you could also do the test with the B-box3 Sagem Tool v 0.9 (to be downloaded from https://www.belgacomcloud.be/?shareObje ... 7668f8029b), and report the result here.
  • In case you were suffering from a repair profile, you can reset your line by calling 0800-22424 (you need your phone or line number).

Are you using the future nine grey, white or platinum route type? Be aware that the grey route types can be very unstable.

Thanks a lot for the replies.
- I do have the old BBox-2. Let me check if it connects on VDSL and if I get the same performance on the line.
- Speed test results here:

Good idea, this might exclude the b-box3 as cause ...
B-box2 should connect on VDSL2 without any problem (assume your logon/pwd have not changed).
There is also a B-box2 modem tool on: http://hierzo.net > DSL Tools > VDSL2 Tool.

You line looks OK. Current profile 40/10.
You are in "zone 2", for which the max. speed is currently 50/10.
The Proximus DLM process will monitor your line for a few weeks, and give you an increase up to 50/10.
During this monitoring phase, you should avoid too many modem swaps  .

Once vectoring is enabled on your local cabinet, the speed may increase further (up to 100/10 max) ...

Sorry, to dig up an old post, but what is the procedure to exchange my current BBOX3 with a BBOX3/V? Can I go to a proximus center with my BBOX3 and they exchange it? Or should I go through some other process? Thanks!

I believe the B-box3/V (O-box3/V) is only available for Proximus VoIP customers (I-talk, Scarlet trio, etc).
