I'm trying to set up an old few handsets that I have picked up, and apparently they're supposed to power on with just a regular PoE ethernet, but when I plug it into my PoE switch, this does not happen.
I have a RJ11 connection going into my phone, and on the other side is an RJ45 connection, which is what I am plugging in to my PoE switch.
Is there a way to check if the phones are not completely dead?
Also, do I have to use the Forum 500 series PBX that it was originally delivered with? Or can I set it up with, for example, freepbx?
