Hello,

First of all sorry for writing in English but my Flemish isn’t sophisticated to write a post on this from but I can read it so please feel free to answer in Flemish.

I have the following problem. I can’t convince my FritzBox 7390 (International) to work with my Scarlet VDSL2. I read a lot of post on this forum and tried almost every setting in my FritzBox – without success ;-(

Could someone tell if it is in general possible? And if it is possible - how to configure my box.

Dank u!

@squib

I assume you have a PSTN (aka analog) line, like most people in Belgium. One thing to check is that is that the “interference resistance” (under Internet/DSL information) is set to annex B. I overlooked this at the beginning, and the modem would not initiate the PPoE session. Once set to annex B, it went through. The installation wizard also asks this question. I guess most people would answer "annex A" for a PSTN line. That would seem logical. However, Belgacom uses the Annex B frequency range for its VDSL2.

Remember also that, unlike the BBox/Sagem, the Fritz is not configured through TR-069. There is no automotic configuration for your user credentials (username and password). You have to specifically mention them under Internet/Account Information/Connection settings.

Maybe you've connected some cables wrong? And some settings?

Can you say what settings you already tried on the FRITZ!Box? (I tried finding an English instruction manual to see what could be the issue, but I couldn't find one)

I found this http://www.avm.de/en/service/manuals/FR ... N_7390.pdf, maybe that can help?
Don't know if it's the correct manual..

I consider that one as the correct one. I looked a little closer at it and I will explain it in some steps.

You connected all wires correct? Yes?
If yes, you go to the box (when you are connected to it, you surf to http://fritz.box)
I think you are already able to do this since you already tried some things.
Select "Internet/Account Information"
There you need to put your login settings from Scarlet.
NOT JUST YOUR SCARLET USERNAME (this was the fault I made when I was setting up my old router).
If your username is ab123456 for instance, than the username for your internet connection is ab123456@SCARLET (in capitals)
then your password (this is the same password as your usual Scarlet password).

It's possible that you need other settings too, but I can't see what settings are possible because they aren't in the manual. If you make a screenshot of this page I can maybe explain further or see an error.

* Maybe a stupid question: are you sure you have VDSL2 ? In case you are still on ADSL, you need to set the FritzBox to Annex A.
* What is the Firmware version ? Only recent firmwares have the "Belgacom VDSL" option in the provider dropdown list.
* Have you set the Box to Country= belgium, Annex=B and provider = Belgacom VDSL2 ?
* Are you using the original Fritz "Y-cable" and the 2 RJ45/RJ11 adapters (white = DSL, black = PSTN) ?
* Also important: have you followed all the instruction regarding your VDSL2 installation at your premises ? (cables, NTP2007 entry point, TF2007 central filter/splitter, etc ...)
* What kind of problem are you facing: no synchronisation ? or no PPPoE session ? Please be a bit more specific ....

Hello,

I solved my problem. Unfortunately I used a broken network cable - changed the cable now it works :-D

Thank you very much for your help.

Just in case someone else is look for the right setting:

* Provider "Belgacom VDSL"
* Annex B
* User "1234@ SCARLET" (capital!) + password
* ATM settings:
- VPI 8
- VCI 35

That should do it!

I would recommend to set ATM settings to "automatic".

With my Linksys the time to connect is much longer when automatic.
Maybe that's his reason, also this are static parmeters as far as I know.

Btw. is Scarlet blocking port 23 or any other ports?
