Belgacom neem maatregelen tegen MyDoom<br>
You might have already heard about the new virus called MyDoom which is spreading at an unseen speed and which has some hazardeous characteristics (click here for a detailed description).
To limit the impact of MyDoom and to protect its subscribers, Belgacom has taken some measures :
Skynet Mail Protection was temporarily activated on all outgoing Emails to prevent the virus from spreading amongst Belgacom subscribers. However, this does not mean that the virus cannot infect your pc since you might as well receive Emails from people that are not subscribed at Belgacom.
To protect your pc from intruders, the ports, opened by the virus (i.e. 3127 to 3198) have been closed for all incoming Internet traffic. This modification does not limit the possibilities of your Internet connection in any way but does deny others unwanted access to your pc via those specific ports.
