Hello,
Is there any problem to run the speedtest with this provider ?
I cannot get the java applet but if I am behind a proxy, no problem.
It's no VM problem nor FW.
BTW I don't see any result from BC. When connecting to the speedtest page I am identified as BC user but no test performed.
I tried with both VM and different browsers.
TIA for feedback,
JacK

All those shortcut's, pffiew, what do you mean with FW?
Strange, I could be that the server of adslbox.be is a little unstabled this morning, but normally it should work! Here it works.. dough, little unstable 10' ago.
Could you check if your are behind a firewall? And disable that firewall for testing. What proxy do you mean?
I think you tried to test when the server had a short outage.. i would say.. try again a little later. When using proxy.. the applet is on the proxy.. which means it doesn't needs to connect to adslbox.be server.. could give wrong result.
I guess server outage.. try again little later

I love it when a plan comes together!

FW = FireWall Closing the FW don't change a bit
No, it's not from today.
I mean when I am using a proxy for my connection, for instance a http anonymous proxy : 195.229.240.188:80 I can perform the test but then I am not testing my connection but which of this address (BC ISP is undetected of course).
I can perform any other speedtest without proxy.
Rgds,
JacK

Hmm, so you are getting on the server? You see the page with Start & Start beta? without your proxy?
What happens if you choose beta?
What browser do you have? JVM vendor & version?
what happens if you go to: www.adslbox.be?
As far as i can see.. people have done speedtests from BC, so it does work with your ISP. Dough something is odd.. without a proxy, doe you have a normal connection for anything else?
We need more info . What firewall do you use?
I'll inform Nukem also

The test should work correctly.
Today I already logged 9 tests from BelCenter users, so I don't think there is a problem with the speedtest or logging in combination with your provider.
Normally if your provider is auto detected, your score is 'realistic' and you haven't done to mutch tests yet, then you must be logged correctly and you will be able to see your score in te last 40 list.
It seems to me its a local problem with java (strangely enough you tested with more then one browser and VM and still it doesn't work...)
To be honest, I can't see why it won't work
BTW, you shouldn't use a proxy server, it's not advised if you like a correct representation of your speed.

I know, I use anonymous proxies when I visit some sites where I don't want to leave any traces .
Strange enough I can test the bandwith of those proxies IP but I cannot test my own one on your site but on any other speedtest site.
Best regards,
JacK

Hmm,
According to me this seems also a local problem.. dough I don't know where to check first...
I'd think it has something to do with a firewall or security settings.. that something got through proxy is accepted.. and that in that case you can load the applet..
And that without the proxy you cannot load the applet due to security settings....
Final test: if you can download the following file: http://users.skynet.be/***
(seems skynet is going down now.. or hard to connect to.. so give it some time). If you are able to download this file, then it's a security setting local on your machine..somewhere you have a setting then which makes a different in content coming trough proxy or not...

Hi,
Bingo : you gave me a hint, I put some skynet servers in my hosts file for they used to track down their visitors ( a lot of pings on your IP after visiting their portal) Renaming for a while my hosts I can perform the test. I reckon you test is ran from a skynet server.
Tnx,

Like we said a local 'security' setting .
Idd, the download class is hosted on the users.skynet.be server. In the future we will try to host the test on different locations at different ISP's, so we can provide more correct results.. difference between a local download and not local . etc etc....
I'v cleared the url again..just to make sure no abuse is commited
