USR808054 Wireless Routeur & SKYNET = PROBLEMS

I bought the USR808054 Wireless Routeur Turbo 100mbits.
Everything is ok with the internal lan but impossible to make a PPOE connection to SKYNET.

I call USR, they told me that they have problem with a few providers...and SKYNET in one of these providers.

They told that they have to make a new firmeware and add an optin Clone mac address with the PPOE.

Apparently skynet blocks the MAC ADRESS from my router USR

I call skynet but nobody can answer.

Well, i'm not that hard into hardware routers, but I find it really hard to believe that Skynet would check mac-addresses. Well, not on a residential subscription at least.
If you are combining this with a pro-subscription (with a fixed ip-address) this could be the case, but again, I'm absolutely not sure about this.
Maybe someone else can bring some clarity to this problem...

i don't think you have a connection with a non-DHCP ip, so it's certain tat skynet doesn't check on mac-adress

i think the problem is the vpi-vci values, these should be 8 and 35, not 48

Skynet doesn't check the mac-addresses at all, even not on PRO or OFFICE subscriptions. When you have a static ip adres, which comes with your PRO or OFFICE subscription, Belgacom Skynet configures the static ip in the BAS (phone central). So when you log in on you phoneline, you will automaticly receive that ip. There's no need to configure this all.

This means it should be configured dhcp. Skynet will point give you an ip-adres, but it will always be the same.

Could you give some more details about your configuration, subscription,..
the more info we get, the faster the problem is usually solved. Maybe post check you router configuration with those of others you have already posted theirs in our fora. You will already find a lot of info. If you don't understand Dutch, just say so, will try to help out where we can.

My subscription is an ADSL GO PLUS.

My IP is dynamic.
I use PPPOE to make the connection.
My parameters are :
Dynamic IP Address
Connection on Demand enable
Idle Time Out =0
MTU : 1492

When i check the log : i see this

I called Skynet for tracing my connection but they will not
I asked them the error message, but they explained me that it's impossible for them to see the error message and why my connection is refused....I'm not sure of this...

USR is looking to make a new firmeware where the option "CLONE MAC ADDRESS" is added to the PPPOE connection...they think that the problem is there...

In my opinion your router isn't entirely correctly configured. I think there is an option that is idd incorrect. Skynet cannot trace the msge because you dont make a connection. You never leave you local site. Never entering Skynet. There's no auth.

Are all your ip's in you LAn in the same ip'range?

My internal range is from 192.168.123.100 to x.x.x.253 (maybe too much i know)

I don't have problem with my old SMC Router.
The settings seems to be the same...

But maybe i can save the config from my USR and send you the file...

USR seems to have found the problem.

The new USR8054 is incompatible with the speed touch home modem.
They are working on a new firmeware but when....

The temporary solution is to put a Hub between the router & the modem.

If someone has another solution please don't hésitate.

You might wanna use a crossed utp cable. What cable did you originally use? straight or crossed utp? I think you should use crossed.

If the problem can be fixed by placing a hub in between than it doesn't seem to be a big problem that needs a firmware update. Unless the router is messing up mac addresses working together with the modem.

But still the temporairy solution is weird.
I'd say, try different cable. (crossed).
