Bobox3 5GHz wifi = slow Apple Appstore download

Hi all,

I have some problem with Bobox3 (Sagem) 5Ghz wifi. My iphone 6 and ipad Air are downloading from app store at extremely slow speed, i have to constantly pause the download and resume the download to make it moving. If I run speedtest I always get good speed (60+/-Mbps) and never have any problem surfing the net, streaming etc. However it seems fine with the 2.4GHz. It also works good if I use a Netgear router with 5GHz. Anyone come across this problem before?

No problems here with the BBOX3/T on 5GHz (also iPhone 6 and iPad Air). Maybe try to forget the network and reconnect?

I tried everything like changing the channel, reset iPhone / iPad network setting etc. it doesn't help.

Do u mean the router is over heating? How to fix?

Radiomodule on your phone or on the bbox is overheating, lower the output power if you can (only on professional equipment ... )

BBox 3 is using the outdoor band so it can do up to 1W eirp on 5 ghz , if you can set the frequency below 5320 then is may only do 200 mw eirp ...

i have no idea what the default output power is on the bbox3.


how does the bbox perform with other 5ghz devices ?
how does the iphone perform on other 5 ghz networks ?

It seems the bbox is working good with everything even with my iPhone is ok. Just when I download app or music from App Store the problem comes. The iPhone is working good with all 5ghz wifi except my bbox. The setting on the bbox is very limited. I will just use a Netgear router for now and wait for the firmware update maybe or iOS 8.4 to see if it fixes the problem.

Overheating occurs when you generate a lot of continuous trafic , like downloading large files, torrents , .... at the max speed of your wireless link

Using 2 BBOX3 on different lines at my home and Iphone 6, Ipad Air1 and Ipad Air2 no problems at all for apple store online everything works at full speed on 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz. Max speed is about 62Mbps download, 5,4Mbps upload.
