Ik kreeg vandaag (1dag na bestelling) een mailtje van

dit is een stukje eruit:

is dit echt van Dell want ik vertrouw het niet. Wat denken jullie?

Vraag aan Dell per e-mail bevestiging dat dit wel ok is. Altijd op veilig spelen in dergelijke zaken.

Als dit echt van Dell komt vind ik dat je beter niet aan Dell koopt. Die gegevens die je zou moeten doorsturen zijn echt wel privégegevens. Vooral de kopie van je creditcard is er veel te veel aan.

Dit is inderdaad veel te verregaand.
Zeker Dell contacteren of dit wel de normale gang van zaken is.
Ik zou wel de telefoon nemen.

Een kopie van je kredietkaart doorsturen is heel normaal. Ik heb dit vroeger nog gedaan bij het betalen van een rekening in de VS. Ik heb toen gewoon een kopie van mijn kredietkaart gefaxt naar de bestemmeling.

Als je een kopie van je kredietkaart doorstuurt weten ze gewoon al je gegevens en kunnen ze op je kosten dingen kopen.
Het lijkt me dus heel raar dat dell zoiets zou willen.
Misschien is het een werknemer die wat extra geld wil verdienen

Ja, maar ge doet hier zaken met Dell België, en mailtjes zouden gewoon in het Nederlands moeten zijn.

IK heb enkele maanden terug een bestelling gedaan bij Dell (.be) en heb behalve de normale opvolgingsmails geen extra vragen gekregen.

Heb je soms bij een buitenlandse Dell site besteld? (geprobeerd in de US te bestellen?).

BTW, de hele transactie van bestelling tot levering duurde een week.

voor zover ik het begrijp heb je met een niet-belgische credit-card geprobeerd iets te bestellen bij Dell Belgium. Omdat dat niet echt zo vanzelfsprekend is, vragen ze jou gewoon om extra confirmatie dat de creditcard echt wel van jou is.

Ik zou gewoon doen wat ze vragen, desnoods eerst Dell Belgie contacteren maar uiteindelijk toch eens bij Fortis gaan luisteren want dit is niet normaal.
Ik koop verschillende dingen per week (ook bij Dell) met verschillende credit cards en nog nooit problemen gehad.
