When replacing my BBox2 by FritzBox 7390, do I have to buy the German or the Austria/Swiss model, or it does not matter? I heard it will also support Belgacom TV?

It is even possible to buy a german version and flash this to an international version. Just do not know what then happens with warranty.

The Austria/Swiss model is exactly the same as the international version (hardware and firmware), only difference beeing the Austrian/Swiss phone adapters. It will indeed support Belgacom TV.

However, please be aware that this FritzBox is not (will not be) whitelisted by Belgacom for vectoring. Therefore, once vectoring is enabled on your line, you will be put on a fall-back profile (max 7 mbps down).

So buy the FB7360. Just to be sure.

Is it sure the FB 7390 will not be whitelisted by Belgacom, because lately I installed a new firmware on mine, and it mentioned 'vector friendly' support. Probably this will not be enough for Belgacom, trying to force us to BBOX 2 or 3. They promised to exchange my BBOX2 (which I currently do not use) with a BBOX 3, but I never heard of them since then...

It is very unlikely that the FB 7390 will be whitelisted:

• a) initiatives for alternative CPE approval has to come from (and paid by) the OLO's. No OLO is currently using the FB 7390.
  b) There will not be any apetite by AVM to support (and pay) for a 7390 approval, because they are about to launch the new model (7490).

The new FW does not mention 'vector friendly' support, but "full vectoring" support. Anyway, it does not matter how friendly the modem is, as long it's not whitelisted .

maakt het dan nog veel uit , bb3 of bb2, als je er toch graag met een FB werkt, dan hang je die toch achter de BBOX en dient die nog enkel als modem.

does it matter, bb3 or bb2, if you'd still like to work with FB, you hang it right behind the BBOX and use it as a modem.

Ik ben wel op het aanbod van BGC ingegaan mbt tot BB3. Hij ging geleverd worden in Kiala punt, maar niets meer van gehoord.
Na 3 maand nog eens geinformeerd, en men vond daar wel iets van terug, maar ik zou gecontacteerd worden 'als men zover was', wat dit ook moge betekenen...
Misschien wachten ze tot vectoring 'uitgerold' wordt op mijn lijn, weet het niet.
Alvast sindsdien al eens op repair profiel gezeten, met continue uitval en veel haperingen op TV; via (dacht ik) 0800 22 424 lijn laten resetten en toen terug in orde. Had men mij misschien gestraft omwille van mijn FB?

Maar zoals reeds gezegd door anderen, als ik de BB3 ontvang zal ik hem gebruiken en hang ik de FB er achter.

Ondertussen staat de nieuwe firmware er bij mij ook op. Ging zonder problemen, verbinding met VDSL2 lijn eveneens.
